Jay graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1985. He played lead trombone in the OSU Jazz Ensemble for two years, made Oklahoma All State band for two years in high school and played keys in a rock band for over 20 years in prisons, churches, festivals, high schools and foreign missions.
Jay & Lisa have co-led the creative arts ministry team at Boulevard Christian Church for over 30 years. They have written 4 different shows and have directed too many to count!
Jay’s involvement isn’t just in the Church setting, it has spilled over into the community and a few nearby High Schools. He has built sets, acted, designed lighting and played in the Orchestra for such shows as Shrek, Guys and Dolls, Beauty and the Beast, Aida, Music Man, Sister Act, It’s a Wonderful Life and more.
Lisa began her art career in 1987. She has painted and designed wall murals in countless churches, business and homes. She has taken her experience in painting and utilized it in the theatre world to paint sets for 13 different shows in schools and community theaters in the area. As well as painting the sets for shows at Boulevard Christian Church for over 25 years.
Lisa has co-led the creative arts ministry team at Boulevard Christian Church for over 30 years along with Jay and she has been the lead director for shows and programs at Boulevard. Lisa has a gift when it comes to teaching and leading actors, both volunteer and professional, on and off the stage.
Jay and Lisa have also written and illustrated, along with their oldest daughter, a children’s book titled This is a Mom.
Ali was in the theatre department at the University of Tulsa for 4 years and spent the majority of her time in the scene shop painting and designing sets. She has painted sets for shows such as Hamlet, Julius Caesar, Carnival, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Reefer Madness, and Into the Woods. She worked on the design and painting of the sets for My Deliverer.
Ali spent a few years working for Christ in Youth MOVE as a program coordinator for their youth events throughout the summer. During the year, she spent her time assisting in program development and many hours were spent designing and painting set pieces and background art, as well as overseeing costuming and props for film shoots.
Ali is a free lance artist, and paints sets for local high school theaters. She loves working with high school students and teaching them the art of scene painting.
